Dr. Brandon Sentell

Hi!

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in Alabama and a graduate of Indiana State University. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, community mental health, and primary care. I’ve treated people diagnosed with a range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, and chronic pain. While working in primary care, I worked with individuals on weight loss, exercise, and building healthier habits to improve overall well-being. In addition to my clinical work, I’m a national trainer for Interpersonal Therapy for Depression (IPT-D), where I teach other clinicians how to use this approach effectively.

While I have experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns, I specialize in the treatment of trauma, insomnia, and chronic pain. I use evidence-based therapies like Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) to help people regain control over their lives. As a member of PSYPACT, I can also provide virtual therapy to people in 42 participating states.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered principles, focusing on providing an empathetic and nonjudgmental space where one can feel safe to explore thoughts and feelings at their own pace. I believe in the importance of authenticity, acceptance, and fostering a strong therapeutic relationship to support your growth and healing.
