Ask about Superbills for potential out of network reimbursement
-
I am considered an out-of-network provider, which means that I do not directly accept insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement for services rendered. I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to learn more about your benefits and the reimbursement process, as policies and coverage can vary. I can also provide a Good Faith Estimate as part of the No Surprises Act.

Choosing an out-of-network psychologist can offer several benefits that enhance your therapeutic experience. One significant advantage is increased privacy; since out-of-network providers do not bill insurance directly, your insurance company will not have access to your diagnosis or progress notes, which become part of your insurance record. This can provide you with a greater sense of confidentiality regarding your mental health. Additionally, going out of network means you are not restricted by a predetermined number of pre-authorized sessions, allowing for more flexibility in your treatment plan. Finally, being out of network gives you the freedom to select a psychologist who best fits your needs, rather than being limited to those covered by your insurance company. This way, you can prioritize finding the right therapist for your unique situation.

Evidence-based psychotherapy refers to therapeutic approaches that are grounded in scientific research and have been shown to be effective for treating specific mental health conditions. These therapies are built on rigorous studies that demonstrate their efficacy, ensuring that clients receive the most effective treatment available. Evidence-based approaches often lead to better outcomes, as they are designed to address the underlying issues associated with mental health challenges.
I am certified in several evidence-based psychotherapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, and Image Rehearsal Therapy for Nightmares. Each of these therapies are specifically tailored to address trauma, PTSD, and insomnia, providing clients with effective tools and techniques to facilitate their healing process.
